Voting Process

Voting for the 2020 JerseyArts.com People's Choice Awards begins at 12:00pm on January 9, 2020 and ends at 11:59pm on February 20, 2020. Anyone can vote in the awards; however, you must have your cookies enabled for the survey tool to work properly. To vote simply: 

(1) select an organization from the list of nominees in each category or 
(2) use the write-in option provided in each category

If using the write-in option please note: a group must be registered with the Jersey Arts Marketers (JAM), a network of hundreds of New Jersey-based cultural organizations. For a list of eligible organizations, visit our online arts directory. 

An organization must receive a minimum of eighty-five (85) votes to appear in the official results. Groups must also fit the general description of the category listed in order to be considered eligible (e.g. a theater company would not be eligible in the museum category). 

While it is not required to vote in every category, ballots are not considered valid until submitted at the end of the process. If a voter does not wish to vote in a certain category he/she can simply skip it. 

Ballots are restricted to one per email address and each ballot may only cast one vote in each category. Only votes cast via the 2020 JerseyArts.com People's Choice Awards online ballot will be considered eligible.

Organizations listed were nominated by their peers through online balloting from November 12 through December 11, 2019. All organizations registered with the Jersey Arts Marketers were provided access to the nominations ballot and restricted from voting for themselves in any category. Those listed received the most support in each category and are listed in order, starting with the group receiving the largest number of nominations at the top.

Winners will be announced and honored in March of 2020. Detailed results will also be posted on JerseyArts.com and emailed to all voters.

Contest

Every voter has the option to enter our grand prize contest by providing a mailing address along with his/her ballot. One winner will be selected at random to receive a $100 gift card to the nominee of his/her choice.

The winner will be notified no later than March 15, 2020, and will receive the prize no later than April 15, 2020. 

Eligibility Restrictions:
Employees and trustees of the ArtPride New Jersey Foundation, New Jersey State Council on the Arts, Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, New Jersey Theatre Alliance, South Jersey Cultural Alliance, and New Jersey Division of Travel and Tourism or members of their immediate households are not eligible to win.

Employees and trustees of any of the nominated organizations or members of their immediate households are not eligible to win.
